Remember that large wordpress installation? It was time to update to wordpress 2.01 and the news is, it was a smooth upgrade even with a quite large database (32 Mb).
Follow the instructions on the wordpress codex verbatim and that’s it. Since I wanted to play sure with a live production site,
before the real update, I:
- backed up files and db of the target site
- used the backup to create a local installation on my linux laptop
- upgraded and checked
- backed up monsterlippa
- upgraded monsterlippa
- upgraded the target site
- backed up the target site
That’s it. Most of the plugins work, except dashboard options, which is most useful if you have to deal with several authors who need howtos, announcements and troubleshooting.
